Safari Types in Bandhavgarh National Park

Tiger Safari – The main adventure of Bandhavgarh National Park begins with Tiger Jeep Safari. In a jeep safari, only 6 persons are allowed and you can also book the whole jeep for yourself with a guide and a driver. Jeep Safari in Bandhavgarh National Park is a thrilling experience for adventure lovers. It is the best way to explore varieties of Flora and Fauna and scenic landscapes which consist of mixed dry-deciduous forests, beautiful meadows and tall and thick grasslands etc.

Elephant Safari –Elephant safari known as Elephant Joy Ride is only allowed in Tala Zone of Bandhavgarh National Park. It is also the best way to explore the hidden treasures of Bandhavgarh National Park. If you want to explore the depth of the forests and hidden pathways you can take an Elephant Safari. It will take you to those forested places which are not accessible by a normal jeep. It is rarely offered to tourists due to long procedures. Khitauli – Series of dry-deciduous forests and abundance of picturesque scenes will delight your adventurous spirit. It is one of the major spots for Tiger sightings. You will witness the Majestic wild Elephants, wild Tigers, Nilgai, four horned antelope, sloth Bears, Spotted Deers and chinkara. This place is very popular for herbivorous animal sightings. But nowadays Tigers are also spotted here during summer.

Magadhi-The beauty of Magadhi Zone will melt your heart away. It is decked with mixed dense forests and beautiful grasslands. Blissful water bodies like Sukhi Patiha, Dabhadhole, Charkpwaha, Murdhawa will gaze at you with a smile for photography. It is one of the most popular places for Tiger sightings. It housed the most famous tiger known as Charger who was featured on the cover of National Geographic. She died in 2000 and was buried at Charger Point which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bandhavgarh.

Tala- Tala zone of Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the most popular zones for Tiger sighting. It is the park’s oldest Zone where the grandeur of Bandhavgarh Fort has been luring the tourists for ages. The lifeline of the park is Charan Ganga River which originates from Shesh Shaiya, a 10th century statue of Lord Vishnu. You will also witness the ancient caves of 10th century, Badi Gufa. Dhamokar- Few miles away from Tala Zone is the most beautiful and popular zone of Dhamokar. It is a buffer Zone. It is one of the best places for wildlife spotting. It is very popular for Leopard and sloth bear sightings. Different species of birds, Chitals, wild boars and Sambhars will quench your thirst for wildlife adventures. It covers Jamunia, Jhanjh, Mudgudi, Kehrawah, Kadewaha, Madehavah, Kalwadhaar and Badawar regions. Abundance of greenery all around, scenic Mudgudi Dam and natural caves of Kadewaha and Sehimaada will blow your heart away.

Johila- On your way towards Manpur, it lies in the Chechpur Village. It shares its zone with the Tala Zone. It is a paradise for nature lovers as a series of breathtaking visitas of forests, waterfalls, rivulets, rivers and grasslands will rejuvenate your spirit. Don’t forget to view Johila Falls & Kuthulia Falls as it is the major water source for the thirst of wild animals. It is the best place for birdwatchers. Different types of migratory birds come due to the abundance of water and flora. Kuthulia waterfall, Chindia ghaat, Badia ghaat, Zurnar ghaat etc. are the most popular tourist attractions in Johila Zone.

Panpatha-The extension of Khitauli zone, the buffer zone of Panpatha is located in Pachpedi village. You will be mesmerized by the scenic beauty of the enchanting forests of this zone. The chances of Tiger sightings are less but you can spot deers, wild dogs, birds, chinkara, blue bull, four horned antelope etc.

Note-The safari remains closed during the Festival of Holi which is celebrated every year in the month of March and during the season of Monsoon. It is also closed on the festival of Diwali. Every Wednesday the Safari for afternoon shift remains closed for the visitors.
